goop by Juice Beauty

The polarizing celebrity that is Gwyneth is keeping busy these days. As most of you have probably heard, she started a skincare line in partnership with Juice Beauty.

The line is the first branded product from Gwyneth’s lifestyle site, goop. She said that skincare felt like a “natural extension” for the goop brand, known for its mindful approach to food, fashion, health, and wellness. She collaborated on the collection with the Northern California–based brand Juice Beauty, for which she also creative-directed a makeup line that came out in January.

There are six products in the collection: a cleanser, an eye cream, a day moisturizer, a nighttime moisturizer, a gritty exfoliant, and an oil. Because I was running out of both my cleansing oil and eye cream, I decided to order the Luminous Melting Cleanser and the Perfecting Eye Cream. I had been very curious about this line and was seriously excited to try it.

What’s different about goop by Juice Beauty compared to other non-toxic skincare brands? Gwyneth said she wanted to launch a luxurious, natural skincare line that was high performance. The brand copy claims that the line:

“delivers clinically proven, age-defying results that mirror exactly what you would find from the big guys with huge R&D budgets and no ingredient restrictions but instead of plastics, and toxins, which you would be surprised to know are found in so many expensive face creams, they are loaded with organic, naturally-occurring ingredients that are actually good for you.”

No question the ingredients in this line are mostly organic and derived from nature. But how do the products perform? Read my review of the Luminous Melting Cleanser here, and the Perfecting Eye Cream here.
